DorkingMinds in association with a new mental health charity, Joe's Buddy Line, is organising MINDFEST21.

This is an event for the whole community which is a festival of ideas and activities on the subject of mental health, wellbeing  and resilience. As well as local charities, statutory, voluntary and community based organisations working in the field of mental health there will also be a range of opportunities to experience activities that can help build emotional resilience such as art, mindfulness, parkour, pilates and music therapy.

There will be a speaker programme culminating in our special guest, Roman Kemp, sharing his experience of making the BBC's award-winning documentary: Our Silent Emergency (still available to view on BBC IPlayer). After losing his friend and work colleague to suicide, Roman examines what the reasons might be behind the increasing numbers of young men taking their lives before ever reaching out for help.

One of the key aims of this event is to inform young people about places they can go to for help.
